6th semester = CRAP

Blair/Chuck >>imissculleni
Phew....3 weeks have already passed since the 6th semester started! Already, it's stressful. In the first week, we had a problem with one of our lecturer which resulted in...replacement of that person. We weren't being mean or anything. It's just....that person's teaching method! Unprepared, super nervous, and is unable to understand our questions. Anyway...I have 5 subjects this semester, again. This time, it's worse. Full of theory-based subjects. And researches. Eventhough I'm in my second year, we have to take year 3 subjects, as we are gonna do our internship (Eeeek) starting in December. Speaking of which....

We have to start applying for our internship. It sucks how Sunway is not encouraging us to apply to PwC, due to contractual issues. Better location, coz my sister is working there. Nyeh! Our preparation of our CV and Cover Letter is intensive. My academic supervisor is tough. Everything must be precise and every detail must be explained to the max. Good thing is, the CV and Cover Letter will be perfect, I hope? I feel like a dungu when it comes to writing about extra-curricular activities. Coz I have none. Well, the bare minimum. I'm a lazy bum. I don't take a lot of initiative to join, I have to admit. But sometimes, due to transportation issues, it makes it hard for me to stay back and participate. Maybe I'm making lots of excuses.....

Well, time to stop pitying myself. Can't turn back time, so, move forward and change. Hopefully I can rely on my personality to get me the internship, hehe. =)

Harry Potter 6

Gambit >>igotthis_stuff
I have not gone out since my holidays started, so my kind sister offered to accompany me to watch Harry Potter (Her second time), along with my brother at 1 Utama.

Honestly, HP6 is the worst of the bunch. It was cringe-worthy, during every scene with Ginny Weasley. She is suddenly pushed into the limelight in this movie just because Harry suddenly is "into" her. It's so random, tacky and lame. Suddenly Harry gets all googly-eyes around her, that weird scene where she tied his shoelace and her hugging him at the end of the movie. For the first 5 movies, she wasn't an important character (except in HP2), but suddenly, she's everywhere. Super irritating. And can they pick someone that can actually ACT to play Ginny? Already the character's super annoying, at least make the character believable and interesting! And what's with the last part, when Hermione suddenly made the comment on how "Harry must not snog Ginny so often in front of Ron" when they were discussing about a very sad topic? I know the producers wanna make it more interesting by injecting a romantic storyline, STOP trying to shove it down our throats every chance you get! Anyway, this is definitely my least fav movie. They could have done away with a lot of scenes. The part where some random girl was trying to hit on Harry. Every part with Ginny Weasley. The storyline where Ron and Hermione are trying to make each other jealous. Put in more stuff about Voldermort's past history. Or the other Weasleys. And more Luna Lovegood! She's far more interesting than bland, blah Ginny.

Phew. Ranting makes me feel better. For now, I will rewatch the other HP movies. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkabhan is my fav. <3

Genting 2009

Dan @ Nite Owl >>mauvemayhem
2 days, 1 night. 8 girls + 4 seniors. It was tiring. We went one day after our last paper (Banking & Finance. Crap. I forgot what were the challenges faced by the Capital market.) We were gonna go by bus through KL Sentral, but unfortunately, the next bus will leave only at 12pm. So we made our way to Pudu bus station. I am super horrible when it comes to KL. I rarely come to KL. Ditto using public transport. So when we used the LRT to go to Pudu bus station, we literally thought, go to the Pudu stop. Seems logical, right? Actually, it was at the Pasarakyat stop. -.-" So we quickly got in, and thank goodness, were able to meet up with the rest.

After approx. 50 minutes on the bus, we reach Genting! Brrrr. Smart me. I almost wanted to wear a skirt to Genting. Luckily my practical mum made me changed into jeans. And I forgot that we were only able to check into First World only after 3 pm, hence, no time to change. Luckily I wore a long sleeve top anyway. So, we went for lunch (Light one, in case I throw up during the rides) and headed for the theme park. Actually, this was my first time in the theme park, despite this being my third trip overall. My siblings are not the adventerous type. Well, neither am I so usually we dont go on rides.

First one...the pirate ship. Immediately, I said no. Then, I felt left out because, everyone was going. So I joined them and pretended the ride was like a really extreme version of a swing. Yeah, it's 100 times worst. I closed my eyes pretty much the whole time but it was kinda fun...Then we went to the kid-friendly, elephant ride thingy. After that, we joined the long queue at the Cyclone roller coaster. My friends assured me that it was milder than the one at Sunway Lagoon (I forgot the name. The one where we had to go through tunnels and such). I guess it wasn't as winding as the one in Lagoon, but it is scary all the same.

We also went on the Tobaggon and the Carousel ride, hehe. I chickened out when it came to the Space Shot and Corkscrew. =( I have a thing against heights. Especially when I'm brought up high into the sky, left there for around 12 seconds, and then, dropped. Ugh. I shudder just thinking about it.

By the time we were finished, it was around 3.30pm. We waited close to 2 hours to check-in. Stupid tourists. I thought a normal weekday would mean less people. But I think because it's currently summer, that's why it's so crowded. We went to our extremely tiny room to rest, but we weren't fully satisfied with our day. So we headed out to play bumper cars. And that resulted in a lost camera. =( stupid person who stole the camera. I hope you lead an unhappy life.

We missed the 9.30 bus, so we had to take the 10.30 bus. Then we were slightly delayed when the bus driver stopped at the Mobil station, doing who knows what. The bus stopped at the Imbi station. So, we decided to walk to Berjaya Times Square. Crap. My bag was super heavy. And it was just us girls. So, I was pretty worried when we were walking in KL. Thank God we arrived safely. Once we reach Times Square, I couldn't resist buying donut from Krispy Kreme! But it's more expensive. RM 2.80. We had to go straight to Sunway for a workshop for our work-based learning. My goodness, I've never been so tired, cranky and hungry. We were all so grateful when it ended early...

That's my Genting trip. And now, I start my holidays. Where I plan to be like a sloth, nyeh. But hopefully, start brushing up my BM and Mandarin (Which I speak with an accent. ??) Here's to a great holiday. =)

Unless I dont pass, of course! Eh....choi choi! *touch wood* What a packed semester. 5 subjects in 14 weeks. Yeesh. This will be a very, very quick update coz....I going to Genting tomorrow with my friends! And I have to pack now...Whee this is only my 2nd trip with friends (After CF camp in 2006~) so please excuse me if I'm super jakun on the trip. And I really don't wanna sit on the twisty-turny rollercoaster or that space shot...I don't wanna die of fright...

Oh well. I'll be back soon... =)

Idol finale **NO SPOILER, I PROMISE***

  • May. 21st, 2009 at 10:20 AM
The Joker & Harvey Dent >>gypsyballads
I should be preparing my Informative speech right now....but it's not like I get to watch the Idol finale every year! So here it goes...

Firstly, I could not decide on who I wanted to win, Kris or Adam. Then I thought about it somemore, and I lean more towards Adam. Not because of his over-the-top performances, I love his understated performances more, like Mad World and Tracks of my Tears. He's a genuinely nice guy, always gracious and polite. He rarely interrupts the judges and it's quite obvious that he's very supportive of the other contestants. As for Kris, he's super subtle. He came into this show without anyone knowing who he is. I watched his first performance, Man in the Mirror and thought, okay he's good looking and has a pretty decent voice, so let him in. But I thought he would had been one of the first to get eliminated coz, you know, he's like a typical guy singer. I was wrong....he had great performances. He lets his voice do the talking. Aint no Sunshine was superior, as was his rendition of Heartless.

I was worried for Adam as he went first, as traditionally the second singer would usually end up the winner (except for David Cook), like Taylor, Fantasia and Jordin. Adam sang Mad World, and wore that trenchcoat, which I thought made it more special. Kris followed up with my personal favourite Aint no Sunshine, and I thought it was a tie for the first round. Second round, Adam was slightly better as Kris' performance was too subtle and ordinary for the finale. Finale performance must be more over-the-top, for me lah. And the winning song....one of the most horrendous songs, ever. Does NOT do justice to either of them. Seriously. Time of my Life was waaaaay better.

And for the results.....I'm very happy! I really am. I'm super happy for both of them. They are both very good in their own way and I hope they will be successful in the future and maybe, perform together? Hehe and please Kris and Adam, come to Malaysia. Hmm although there is a likely chance of the Govt banning Adam because of his looks. Boo.

Earth Hour

Rorschach >>mauvemayhem
I wasn't sure whether to join the Earth Hour initiative at first. But I did with my family...by leaving just one light on while we went out to the playground opposite our house. It was nice and peaceful and there were enough streetlights so it wasn't scary. Most of the houses in my neighbourhood shut their lights off (or did they venture out to the nearby mall?). We return at 9.30 pm to watch Whose Line.

The concept of Earth Hour is great, where we can show our message on our stand in terms of the environment. However, what irks me is that there is just emphasis on turning off our lights for that one hour. It would have been better if they emphasis more on how everyone must be environmentally friendly every day, not just for an hour on March 28. All that commercials including local celebrities advising us to turn off the lights....why can't they tell people methods of how to save energy instead of gabbing on other unrelated stuff? It would not make much difference if people shut off for just one hour, and continue on their wasteful habits every day. Because that's what a lot of people do.

Cussing.

Gambit >>igotthis_stuff
Testing out the Gambit icons. Wheee!

The Rage had an interesting article recently on cussing. I don't really cuss openly. I'm fine reading the cuss words but I feel uncomfortable hearing people cuss, especially the F-word. I limit my cussing to Shit, Bloody, Stupid (Very tame), Damn (Inner monologues), Screw you. F-word....I think of it, but I don't actually say it. If I say it, it won't make me feel better. So I don't say it. I'm not preaching to everyone to stop saying it. It's just not my thing. As for the finger, I'm very tempted to do it 50% of the time while driving, but I haven't. Usually I give bad drivers other gestures.

Some people cuss too much. Like they are just trying too hard. I'm fine with people incorporating some cuss words subtly when talking. Not those who rattle off enough cuss words to form a sentence. What's the point? They make themselves seem so 'cool', when in fact, they aren't. Luckily, most of my friends don't really curse too often. My ears will bleed if they do.

There's been a whole lot of book sales/fair! MPH and Popular are having their fairs and clearance throughout March. The biggest one is currently going on at Mayang Plaza (MPH). There are also book fairs at shopping malls, like Subang Parade, the Curve, Bangsar Village and 1U. Bought two Shopaholic books [Shopaholic and Sister & Shopaholic and Baby]. Exicted!

Woo Semester 4 has officially ended yesterday...and the whole class decided to unwind by going to a karaoke at the Puchong Neway branch. I have never gone for a karaoke session. (I had to google how to spell karaoke, lol) Firstly, I know I'm not a good singer (and a LOT of them in my class are awesome singers!) and I'm very embarassed to do so in public. And usually when I go out, we watch movies, bowl, go ice-skating or go to Sunway Lagoon. Anyway, karaoke is....pretty interesting. A very good method to unwind and de-stress. Especially when singing a fast song. I wouldn't mind going again. But how dare Neway charge us RM 9 per tidbit bowl?!?! Daylight robbery.

There are so many new movies I can't wait to watch. Top on my list, X-Men Origins: Wolverine! OMG OMG I keep re-watching the trailer just to see Gambit! <3 They casted the perfect Gambit, Taylor Kitsch. Hot. OMG the way he throws the cards and the stick...so exicting! I really hope he gets his own movie.

Second of my list....Confessions of a Shopaholic. I didn't like how they change the plot and certain characteristics of Becky, but oh well. Isla Fisher is a pretty suitable casting for Becky. I imagined Luke to be taller though. And I hope that they will let the best friend marry her...never mind, it's spoiler-ish. I know it's kinda gross, but I found it funny.

I also am looking forward to two movies based on my favourite books: The Lovely Bones and My Sister's Keeper. The Lovely Bones is by Alice Sebold and My Sister's Keeper is by Jodi Picoult. They are both very heartbreaking books with an awesome storyline. I really hope the book translates well into a movie!

Other shows I wanna watch are Benjamin Button, Slumdog Millionaire, Marley and Me, The Reader and Revolutioniary Road too.

American Idol. I was thinking of not watching this year. Didn't want to get addicted to so many tv shows. Har har too late...I'm watching this year. Definitely the quality has gone way down. They had to stoop so low to focus on stupid Bikini Girl. Why why will you want to audition in your bikini? Your body is not even nice, anyway. I'm so glad she's out. Thank goodness Joanna Pacitti is also out. She already has previous record deals (Two, I think) and has released songs that are featured in movie soundtrack. It's like giving a recording artist a chance to win AI. Oh wait. It's so common in Malaysia. Look at One in a Million. Previous contestant: Dayang Nurfaizah. She's already an established singer, and she selfishly competes in the show. Thank goodness she didn't win. And for the current season, I spied the winner from Mentor (Pija) and a runner-up from Akademi Fantasia (Amylea). Urgh...so unfair.

....Anyway, my favourites from AI: Adam Lambert. (Hello, so interesting and such a pro!) Alexis Grace. Danny Gokey (Pls stop focusing on his wife. It's a very sad story, but the producers and Danny have to stop focusing on that.) Anoop/Noop Dawg. (Pls be in the Wild Card!) Lil Rounds. (Very professional). And please DO NOT bring back Nick/Norman/Normund. He does not have a good voice. Yes, he's entertaining. But he doesnt has the voice to justify his place in the competition!

Phew. I have been doing (been forced) lots of spring cleaning for the past 4 days, starting on Boxing Day. Cleaning the computer, painting the gate, clearing out the dresser, etc...it's a pain in the butt, but quite rewarding. Yay, no more spring cleaning for at least, one years time!

Year 2008 is about to come to an end....though I don't think time passed that quickly, as compared to other years. Anyway....what a year. Lol, I can still remember that during the beginning of this year, the Chua Soi Lek scandal broke out, and I thought...what a way to start of year 2008! Then the elections rolled in, and for once, I was aware of what's going on. Aware of the idiotic acts of many politicians, fighting over stupid stuff. Aware of all talk, but no work. Broken promises. It's still going on. Then the US elections, which was very exicting, for once. I do hope that Barack Obama will be a better president than Bush. Har...Kudos to the journalist who threw his shoes. It summarises how most people feel about Bush.

When it comes to TV shows, 2008 has been a great year! Gossip Girls. <3 I want Season 2 now!!! At first it was pretty lame, in terms of acting and storyline. But I love the show. Blair and Chuck. But urgh, Serena is still annoying. Anyway, I never really liked the book version of Serena. Jenny became bratty. Dan and Vanessa are too commercial. Other great shows I love include Ugly Betty, Desparate Housewives, Amazing Race Asia and The Amazing Race. Gray's Anatomy has gone downhill...they should kick Izzie off, and I'll be so happy. I've been watching 90210 also...man. When I compare 90210 and GG, GG truimphs. In terms of acting (Shanae Grimes is a terrible, terrible actress that likes to swish her hands to make a point) and storyline (so typical). And Pushing Daisies...it was quite fun, but a bit dissapointing. But I like Olive and Digby the dog. So cute! And can StarWorld STOP showing Heroes (or at least the Heroes preview???). Seriously. I watch StarWorld a lot. And 75% of the time, a Heroes commercial is on. I can watch a one-hour show, and the Heroes commercial will be shown up to 4 times. Yes, I get it. Heroes is an exclusive show. Heroes has characters that don't know who they really are. Want to save the world. Save the cheerleader. Go back in time to save the world and the cheerleader. Blah blah blah. I hate this show, mainly due to the overhype. I can only stand Sylar. And and....I want to watch The Office! It's been a long time since StarWorld last showed it. Stop showing Heroes, replace with The Office!

I definitely had a quieter year. In terms of social life, where I can count the number of times I have gone out. Sometimes I feel like a loser as a result of that, as my social life is pretty dull as compared to a normal girl. But I promised myself to not whine about this, and make a resolution for 2009. Be more sociable. Eeek! I also wanna make somemore resolutions...to spend less. To be more active. To be more hardworking.

Have a HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone! =)

Books, books, books

I'm on a book high. Because I just returned from my happy place! (aka MPH Warehouse sale @ Jalan Bersatu 13/4) They advertised last Tuesday and yesterday, whereby if I bring the advertisement, I can get great prices. So I saw Jodi Picoult's Salem Falls and went nuts. FROM RM36 to RM12!!!! So I begged dear mommy to bring me there. So we went today, dragging alone my dad and brother. hehe

It's located in Section 13, Jalan 13/4....which I think it's near the Blumedia Inc office (Publisher of Seventeen, Female mag, etc). There were a lot of cars, so we parked in the first empty spot and walked under the hot sun. Aargh, the kiasu in me started to panic, because I was worried everyone came to buy my Salem book. So I power-walk, and felt so grateful when we finally reached the warehouse. It's much, much bigger than the previous warehouse sale (held at Hudson's factory) and the books, magazines, etc are WAY better! I spotted my Salem book instantly, hugged it to my chest (in a possessive manner) and ambled around. My dad spotted me and said, "Oh, the Picoult book. Enough already arr?" Lol...as if one book was enough! So I walked around, spotting lots of non-fiction books and memoirs, but no fiction. Or Gossip Girl books. Then I turned back and walked towards the childrens' book site.

Whoo-hoo, then I was in the teenage books' section. So I continued walking....and I spotted GG books! I went nuts, looking at the covers for the Prequel, especially. And I spotted it, gave an internal squeal, and grabbed it. It was the last one! And every GG books was only RM22. Wheeeee then I grabbed the Carlyles, because I can't pass up a good deal. Then I walked somemore, trying to locate anymore interesting books. Later on, I turned back to look for more chic-lit books, and grabbed some. Hehe.

I decided to call Pony, my fellow book-aholic, and she requested for 2 GG books (of course!) and another book. Aaah I love these kind of sales! In the end, everything totalled up to RM160. Dang! I'm in book heaven!

Ouch.

Ugh. I tried waxing. And it did not work. And it hurt quite a lot. And it's messy. I wish I did not have hairy legs! Okay, I'll stop talking about this, because it's grossing me out.

Yay, I'll be going to Phuket tomorrow! I love going to the airport. I love looking at duty-free goods. I love going to the lounge (whenever I'm allowed in). But I don't like flying. First thing, the extremely tiny toilet, the cram seats, the different air pressure which makes my ears go pop, and I can't sleep properly. Thank goodness it's only for 2 hrs...

I'm a bit worried that this trip might be cancelled due to the protest in Bangkok. If it escalades over to Phuket, we might not go. *sadddd* And I'm also worried about possible...tsunami. *knocks on wood* My dad read that a Tibetan monk said a tsunami might hit somewhere btwn October to December. Gulp. But luckily, our hotel is quite far from the beach area.

Oh boy, all of these "positive" concerns before my trip. Eeeh. Better start packing!

Birthday wishes...

I have a question. If someone wishes you happy birthday, do you reply? But I guess, for some people, it's just so hard to do. Call me fussy, mean or whatever, but I think it's corteous of you if you reply even a simple 'Thanks!' to the wisher. Or acknowledge that you have received the birthday greeting! It's just frustuating. The wisher takes the initiative to remember and wish you, so just reply. That is it! At least the wisher will know that (a)The birthday boy/girl has received the message and (b)they did not wish the birthday boy/girl on the wrong day or something. Even if the wisher got the birthday day mixed up, tell them. It won't hurt you. It's just being polite.

Oooh...the triple 8 day! I wanted to do something special on this day...but I could not find anything special to do...besides playing restaurater (is there such word?) in my computer game. It's fun. I can pretend to actually know how to cook, raise the food prices whenever I can and firing the staff that my customers seem to find rude (which is most of the time. =.=") Yes, as you can see, I really am a loner who loves computer games. What's there not to love? I am able to escape into a virtual world and forget about my responsibilities and remain relax while playing it. (Translation: No Life).

The Dark Knight. Muahaha, I watched it on Saturday and now only writing about it! Anyway...it was awesome, as everyone has mentioned. It's pretty different than other superhero movies, where the plot usually goes like this: Big accident, love story develops, big fight #1, hero gets conflicted, big fight #2, some other conflict, big fight #3 (The most exciting one, usually, eg. The Hulk, all Spidey movies), the ending (where hero and girlfriend reunites). TDK had more fight scenes, a lot of twist and turns, and a very confusing ending (for me). Thank goodness there weren't any lame damsel-in-distress, aka Mary Jane (jeez, she sure screams a lot in all 3 movies. Can't she try to save herself??). And the Joker. So creepy, yet hilarious! I love the pencil trick, and the way he talks. Creeps the shit outta me. Heath Ledger really does deserve an Oscar. But what's up with the Batman's voice? I read the reviews beforehand, so I kept close attention to his voice, and yes, it is kinda creepy. So...raspy.

8/8/08 also means...the Olympics! Yay! We subscribed to the special Olympics thingy and it's pretty awesome. So many things to watch, even before the actual Games begin! I even got to catch the Perfect 10 girl in action. Really, her actions were flawless and graceful. Makes me wish I had learn gymnastics when I was young. And I noticed that most of the contestants, regardless of what sports, are very old. What's up with that?

Anyway, I'll be looking forward to gymnastics, swimming, diving, tennis (just to see Roger Federer) and badminton. Go Malaysia! Hmmph, too bad no Squash. How stupid! They should have taken out some sports, like Equastarian. At least Squash involves a ball! If there is Lawn (Lame) Bowl in the Olympics, I will scream.

Semester break. Whee! But the truth is...I'm bored already. I borrowed 5 books to keep me company and I finished one in one day. It was one of those 'Love Stories' book, very easy to read. Also very predictable. I YouTube a lot, searching for Gossip Girls season 2 promo. *squee!* Can't wait for the new season! Hmm...maybe i have to resort to DVDs if I can't wait for 8TV to show it. It's kinda irratating when 8TV keeps censoring kissing scenes and switching the episodes around! They showed episode 13 before showing episode 12 a few weeks ago, and they did not bother showing the 1st episode. What~

I was cleaning out my study room today(forcing myself, since I spend most of yesterday watching the non-stop marathon of Desperate Housewives, despite constant complaints from my father about re-watching them again). Did the usual clearing out, although I haven't touch this semester's notes and stuff, just in case I fail anything. *knocks on wood* And then I stumble across some really old stuff. I'm pretty superstitious, whereby I keep the exam papers of which I'm really proud off, eg. Accounts and Add Maths. From my Form 5 exams. Yes, i know, shock sendiri....and I still kept my SAM Legal Studies notes, because my sister mentioned that it is good to keep the old stuff just in case I need it in the future. Hmm...that probably explains her old college notes, collecting dust in my parents' bedroom.

When do we actually throw out our old notes and stuff? After the results? One year? Never? For me, I would just throw it when I'm doing the clean-up, but sometimes I feel so sayang to throw it all away. They are the reminders of the stress and hard work during those times...but they collect loads of dust. So I compromised, and threw the Legal Studies stuff (since I doubt I'll need it again...) and kept the Economics notes, for I will have Economics next sem. Oh crap, I just remembered! I'm gonna study Business Law next sem! Better go fish out those notes!

Seventeen Summer Splash 2008

Invitation---Check
Swimsuit---Check
Transport to Lagoon---Check
Attending the Summer Splash---Errrr. Did not make it.

Seventeen Summer Splash was...well, I don't know. I did go to Lagoon, but gave up trying to get the goody bag (or even entering) because there was a huge crowd. The same kind like at those rock concert. And many of them were smoking. As if it wasn't bad enough that it was so bloody stuffy, they had to pollute the limited oxygen we have. Yeesh. I pity the young kids that were there(how irresponsible are their older siblings/parents?).

So my sis and I didnt go, instead we went shopping! And we exhausted her credit card in the process, hehe! I bought a handbag and a long-sleeved top, that amounted to RM95. o.0 I sort of went overboard with my spending...My sis and I were so obsessed with looking for the lucky ones who got the goody bags, and we were kinda confused because there were many versions of the Roxy bags around. And then we spotted a group of girls (who obviously left early coz we saw them around 2.30) with those bags. And they each have one! Unfair. *is jealous* I wanna know what was inside the goody bags! There were a lot of people who obviously wanted to go to Summer Splash too, but did not go in as they were in their best beach attire. I saw a girl that plastered on SO much eye make-up. The first evil thought to pop in my head was "Ish, once she goes into the water, her eye make-up will melt and it will be nasty". Sorry, I am really mean!

I was actually looking foward to seeing who will win Cover Guy and Girl this year...oh well, I will wait for the magazine...Although I stop buying Seventeen magazine since April. And the guy finalists are not good looking also...aih.

Journey to the East

Whoops! I went to Kuantan last Saturday and....I'm only talking about it now. Lol! I have Idol on my mind for the past 4 days, where I aim to read everything Idol-related, in case I miss a TINY bit of news. Yes, I'm obsessed. Hey, it's rare to actually be a fan of the winner!

Anyway, back to Kuantan. My dad decided it would be fun to go to Kuantan as we never ventured out to the East. (Cameron, Genting, Bukit Tinggi and Fraser's not counted, acc to dad) I do think that they have a slightly different lifestyle than us West people...for example, life seems slower there. I know, DUH. But Kuantan is quite quiet, for a city...and I actually saw someone throwing rubbish into a proper rubbish bin. Wow. Really, that seems like a miracle to me!

The resort is awesome! So zen-like, with reflexology stones, infinity pool and an awesome view of the beach. Of course, my inner jakun made me venture around to take pictures like a foreigner tourist. As we were picky eaters (where there are not much Chinese food around), we ended up at a secluded KFC. Hehe!

I planned to swim, swim and swim during this entire trip, so I swam twice in 3 days. I went into the 5 ft pool, fooling myself by thinking that I'm tall enough to be able to stand in the water. WRONG. I ended up clinging to the side whenever I wasn't attempting to swim. And I forgot how to swim. People would always say that one can never forget how to cycle, swim or drive, etc. once they learn to do so. I went into the water....and swallowed lotsa clorine-infested water. Gag. Tried the backstroke...floated into the water. Tried the breaststroke...even worse. Ditto for freestyle. But I finally learn to swim both the backstroke and breaststroke properly (though I only swam at the side, for fear of stopping in the middle of the pool and drowning if my dad wasn't around to save me). Sigh...wasted lar, all of those lessons!

The beach was quite nice, but somehow the images of the Dec 26 tsunami kept flashing into my head, so I dare not venture out far. I almost lost my slipper when I tried to take photos, hee! There was also a jacuzzi at the resort, and thank goodness, brats are not allowed. If not, they might try to pee inside (eww). But I think they are banned as they might get accidentally sucked or something.

It was a fun, relaxing trip. But next time, I want to go to Pulau Tioman! I love the blue sea.....

Egh! I'm supposed to be working on 3 assignments, better not linger here for long....=(

AI

Jeez, I write way TOO much about AI. I promise. This is the last one! Because it has ended. I promise to not watch next year, to protest the shocking elimination of MJo. Hmm....maybe I'll watch the auditions only, if I can tahan....

I prefer to watch for myself who won AI, but I had morning class and so, cannot watch the live finale. Hmmph. So, I had to stay spoiler-free for 10 hours. And it was torturing! From 10 am onwards (where I was in the computer lab), I refuse to look at any computer screen, afraid of seeing AI news. I had to minimise listening to other people's conversation to avoid hearing anything about AI. I refuse to watch TV or go online (and here's where I almost crack lol) till 7.20 pm-ish. I off-ed the radio in case they annouced it. Basically, as my mum put it, I was obsessed. And crazy.

Hello, it was a good finale! I didnt want to know who won from some other source! Granted that David Cook did not perform as well as I expected and David Archuleta was better...I thought Archuleta would have won! Of course, I was dissappointed (I'm a Cook fan-Cookie) because I actually want my fav to win, yet the winner would definitely get tied up in some lame contract if they win, where they would probably create a crappy album that is boring.

Anyway, the finale was fun....The other contestants perform! Kristy should have been kicked out of every performance! Michael! Carly! Renaldo 'I am your Brother' Lapuz! Hallelujah! Jimmy Kimmel was lolz, insulting Paula muahaha.

And here's my last David joke....I'm glad that DAVID won! He deserves it. Hehe

btw...*SPOILER*

...........the taller David won. ;)

Hehe...I was thinking of writing just about AI and gloating about the fact that KLC is out. But nyeh, there is more to life than AI, right?

Okay, maybe I just want to mention something about AI. ^^

It was Mariah week and the guys were better...well, the two Davids were good, especially David Cook. His version of "Always be my baby" was so different, but awesome! At first, I didnt like his arrogance in the beginning of the competition, but he's starting to grow on me. The girls were under-performing, although the Mariah songs should have worked to their advantage...haih. Brooke's version of 'Hero' was kinda weak. Probably because she doesnt have the suitable voice for it. Carly's performance did sound exactly like Mariah's version. I couldnt really remember Syesha's version....And I didnt listen to KLC's performance. I noticed recently whenever I dont watch one of the Idols performing, they will get eliminated. I did not watch Ramiele's last performance, and she got kicked out. I missed (not on purpose) Michael's performance, but I watched the repeat. And he got kicked out mercilessly. Sniff! So, when KLC performed I ran to the study room *is childish* But hey, it worked! Muahaha Bye KLC! I dont have to listen to you butchering songs after songs. Anyway, she just got engaged, so congrats to her...

Crap. I rambled on about AI. Now, onto my first (and second) driving experience (without anyone with me)!

Since my dad was overseas I had the extra car, so I decided to drive alone to Sunway. I would only dare to drive if I'm familiar with the routes. Luckily I have been practicing driving alone by making my mum seat in the back seat and be as quiet as possible...it actually helped! Anyway, I only drove every Thursday so I am gurantee of a parking space within Sunway. This is due to my very limited parking skills. And I'm driving a big boat (aka Waja) which can be difficult to navigate!
I tried reverse parking last Thursday and thank goodness, no one witnessed my idiotic attempt at reverse parking. Eventhough there weren't any car between my parking space. Sigh. I drove forward into the empty space, reverse back in a crooked angle, drove forward, reverse back again and repeated those steps for almost 4 times. And I watch in envy another student who reverse park his MyVi in just one step. I also almost crash into the parking machine on my way out. I did not want to stretch to put in the ticket, so I drove as close as possible...and almost bang into the machine. Hee! Luckily I could still reverse to avoid any accidents.

Yikes! I promised to stop procrastinating....and I broke that promise. I was given my Management assignment 3 weeks ago, and I just officially started. Seriously, I am not motivated. At all. Yeesh. And it's due on the 28th. Must go start asap!

Kristy Lee Cook is still in.

Michael Johns is out.

Those who voted for KLC should get their hearing checked.

Hated this week. Sucks.

I agree with most of their comments here ----> http://community.livejournal.com/ohnotheydidnt/22322779.html

Yeah, I hate Kristy Lee Cook (KLC). FYI, she's an American Idol contestant, the one who is blonde and stands like a man (according to my sister). And she cannot sing. At all! Even in her "strongest" genre, country. Ugh. She's always in the Bottom three, yet she hangs on like a flea. It's not that I really favour those who went home, but she deserves to be kicked out first. Her performance are really AWFUL...(esp the first Beatles performance) and I think she is relying on her looks to get her ahead! Man, I wish Simon was correct when he said she would only last till the Top 10. Ugh.

Last year, I didnt want to watch AI because I got sick of seeing the same type of singers (Country blonde singers, African-American women with strong vocals, Chris Daughtry wannabes) in the competition. This year, in comparison is more unique (with the exception of KLC, David H. and Chikizie).

Jason C. is only there because of his looks...he has dreamy, dreamy eyes that many girls will go gaga over. I only liked his "Hallelujah" song. His other performance are exactly the same...sigh.

David Cook...somehow I do not like his look (before the haircut) but he can sing. Maybe he can win?

David A. looks like a 13 year old lolz but he has horny women fawning all over him. I thought he was a bit overhyped but he had amazing performance! When he performed "Imagine" and "Another day in Paradise", it was magical. No, I dont drool over him, I prefer Michael Johns, heh heh. But did anyone notice that David A wheezes after he speaks all the time? Poor guy.

Michael Johns cannot dance lol! The hand movements he does is kinda weird. But I like most of his performance. And he looks at the camera at a sexy way...but he's married. Ok, I'll shut up. I love his Hollywood performance of Bohemian Rhapsody.

Now, on to the girls....I love Brooke White. She is a breath of fresh air in the competition, with her slow songs. And she can play the piano and the guitar! I love her Hollywood week perfomance and most of her slow songs. But I do not want her to win! Somehow, I think she will be ruined once she wins. They will probably make her take on a different style. Hopefully she can be the runner-up!

Carly Smithson is a lil bit overrated to me...she has a good voice but somehow, I'm bugged by the fact that she had the record deal. Hopefully she will have more memorable performance.

Syesha Mercado is a great singer but somehow...she is similar to previous contestants. I guess that's gonna be her weak point! But I love her "Yesterday" performance. Too bad the judges dont really like her.

I am really in such a good mood coz I went to Tesco with my mum and aunt...and found that fiction books were on offer. I have been eyeing "The Memory Keeper's Daughter" by Kim Edwards for so long so I've been looking around for the cheapest price. And today....it was only RM24! Usually it's around RM34. Only book deals can keep my this happy! So now, I have 2 books to read, yay! I also bought "Gone, Baby, Gone" by Dennis Lehane at Times. BTW, i love the movie. I just wish the Censorship Department could have toned down on the amount of censoring they did. Although many parts were cut, I could still the "F" word being uttered. So....what was their point of censoring if that part wasn't cut out?
