I don't get it. Why guys think it's so cool to give catcalls or even say "Hi" (in a horny way) at the fairer sex. It definitely (well, for me) doesn't make us feel beautiful or important. It makes women feel self-conscious and embarassed. If women did that to guys, would they like it? Actually...maybe. Anyway, I'm not trying to bash every guy out there...just certain male species. As I am complaining of this, it's obvious I was affected personally like this.

Recent events make me wonder more about this. I was at Pyramid, about to go to the old wing's main entrance and I had to pass by two guys. As my mother always tell me to be careful, I avoided eye contact and pass the both of them. One of them angled his body to my way and said "Hi". It may seem like a small matter, but to me, I feel disgusted. Embarassed. I mean, is this an effective way to pick up girls?

Second event: My family and I were at Carrefour on Saturday night, so I wondered to the magazines section. Then I wondered over to the fiction section, which also had dictionaries...(?) Anyway, I just bought a Mandarin/English dictionary at Popular for RM30 so I wanted to compare with the one at Carrefour. Yup, although I had learned and attended Mandarin class from Standard 1 till Form 1, I did not absorb the ability to speak, write and talk well. *is embarassed* Don't judge me. :p Anyway, I wanted to check the price of the dictionary (Hoping it would be more expensive than mine!!!) and went to the price checking machine. One group of (I think) foreigners were walking to my direction, so I wanted to let them pass and went to the side. Then I walked towards them, and I heard a catcall, if I'm not mistaken. Of course, that made me feel de-graded. Maybe I'm just being sensitive (or maybe this is a new form of courting that I do not know??) but if I could retrace my steps, I would not have cross their path.

Well, it's good to get that off my chest. Now, I'm off to edit my Facebook account!
